I know it’s unrelated to this blog, but I had the most bizarre cab ride of my life last night. I got into a cab at 3am and the elderly Indian gentleman immediately starting yelling and showing me toys, asking if I liked them. Then he proceeded to serenade me with a smoker voice all the way from LES to Astoria. Here is a quick recording I made during the incident.LISTEN

My camera fell three feet last night, from the tripod straight onto the front of the lens. I fear this may have been the fatal final straw for my 18-55mm. Sad day.
In lighter news, I have entered an awesome self-portrait contest! I figure it’s a long-shot, but I promised myself I would put myself out there more this year, so this is my first attempt. PLEASE OH PLEASE won’t you stop by my page and ‘rate my portfolio’ at the bottom (a good rating preferably) You can rate it once a day for the next 4 days. It would mean so much!

I am working on over 17 commissions for this new web series I am involved in about the Greek gods. On top of doing the photography, I am also acting in it and creating the website. Episodes will be available soon on o-cast.com.The producers of my series also exhibited several of my self-portraits at a fundraiser this past Thursday at Sin Sin Lounge, which was a blast!
Check out the rest of this series on flickr or my facebook page! It’s not all done yet, but I’m slowly making progress.
*My director Bryan Dechart took this photo for me and I manipulated. I did both photos and editing for the rest of the series.

Exciting News! The producers of the web series I am involved in has asked me to exhibit some of my photographs alongside several other visual artists at an upcoming fundraising event at Sin Sin Lounge in NYC. Each of the photographs will be mounted with their respective poems and raffled off at the end of the night, with donations going towards the series. So save the date Sept 10 and join me on my Facebook page to learn more. Click here to see prints available for raffle.

I’m super excited about the new project I’m working on. I have been cast as Athena in the upcoming web series O-Cast, a mockumentary which follows the adventures of the 12 Greek gods who have been demoted from Mount Olympus to a Manhattan rooftop. It’s a really fun project and the character I’m playing is really unusual for me- The Goddess of Wisdom-a militant librarian type. I’ve also signed on to do their website and some promotional photography which I will be posting later. You will be able to watch the episodes for free online from various portals such as youtube, itunes etc. Please check out the website I created for the project and the Facebook group for more information!

Thanks for visiting my new blog. Right now it’s mostly my work, but I’m working on expanding it to include tutorials, before and afters as well as weekly inspiration of the week articles which will feature information about artists I find interesting and inspiring. Enjoy, and if you have any suggestions for tutorials/before and afters/inspirations, please shoot me an email.
