New Photo Work: Siren Song
Been so long since I shared a conceptual photo with the world. I’ve been so wrapped up with my film projects lately, there’s been absolutely no time to shoot! So wanted to share this photo I’ve been holding onto for a while. This is from the last shoot I did before leaving L.A.. (Makes me nostalgic just writing that!) Shot for the incredible singer-songwriter Holly Conlan in one of my all-time favorite locations in El Mirage salt lake…during a thunder storm no less! Which made this shoot especially hard considering Holly’s hair was flying all over the place and we had to light a fire! I shot this photo in two parts- one just with holly and her dress, the other with some fabric on fire. So FYI, no singers were harmed in the shooting of this photo! Although I wouldn’t recommend lighting fires to fabrics as we did as the material started falling apart and flying away on fire and I had to chase it in my sandals and stomp it out before it got away! Not my finest moment as a photographer.
But I’m very happy with the result. This photo was made to promote Holly’s latest album, The Sirens, now available on iTunes. Be sure to check it out!
Thanks everyone who has been following along with my filmmaking projects and who supported my campaign. I’m really ecstatic about the footage we shot and I can’t wait to start editing in the coming weeks!! xo
