Movie opens to positive press at Atlantic Film Festival
We were honored this week to present our film in the CBC Shorts Gala as part of the Atlantic Film Festival. One of the benefits of being part of this program is that it is one of the most popular events at the festival. Never did we dream of having our film play simultaneously for two full theatres- but it did! We were so excited to have the opportunity to be able to share our work with such a wide audience in Halifax. Here are a few images to remember the night!
As well, we were fortunate enough to receive some mentions in our local press about the screening:
Click here to read an article featuring both Leah and Lisa Rose Snow (another filmmaker featured in the gala) discussing their films and the position of women in media!
And a complimentary mention in Halifax Bloggers by film reviewer, Carsten Knox, that says:
“A big part of the festival—and inevitably the most popular program—is the Atlantic Shorts. The Gala selection is generally considered to be the cream of the crop—and I can say the one Gala pick I’ve seen, Leah Johnson’s Some Things Won’t Sleep, a National Screen Institute Drama Prize winner, is terrific.”
