NSI Drama Prize films Some Things Won’t Sleep by writer/director Leah Johnston and producer André Pettigrew, When Fish Fly by writer/director Lisa Rose Snow and producer Lora Campbell, and When you Sleep by writer/director Ashley McKenzie and producers Martha Cooley and Nelson MacDonald, headline NSI’s East Coast students and alumni at the Atlantic Film Festival which takes place from September 11 to 18 in Halifax, NS.
“NSI Drama Prize is rocking the East Coast,” said program manager Elise Swerhone. “Not only are these three films by Atlantic artists, but an additional seven films are written, directed or produced by the program’s alumni.”

NSI Drama Prize is an ambitious training course that provides emerging filmmakers with training in the various stages of filmmaking, $10,000 in cash support; over $20,000 in services; and mentoring from established industry leaders while teams develop and produce a short film. Over 110 films have been produced through the course.
