All of Leah’s shorts were shown back to back in the inaugural Truro Film Festival.

“The Showcase Truro Film Festival will host a number of showings at the Marigold Cultural Centre, Friday and Saturday.

Truro native Leah Johnston will have all four of her short films shown back-to-back, beginning at 7 p.m. Friday.

She will also put together a series on Atlantic Canadian shorts for Saturday.

Johnston’s first short, Another Man, was filmed on her own 5D camera in 2012. She spent $187 on the film.

She will also feature a rough cut of her latest never-before-seen film, Ingrid and the Black Hole, which won the $35,000 BravoFACT Pitch Contest earlier this year.

Other Johnston features will be Some Things Won’t Sleep, which was filmed at the Stanfield Inn, and My Younger Older Sister, in which she and her sister have roles.” – Truro Daily News
